Monday Morning Reflections
It's the day after Easter! I read Psalm 118 this morning and those ancient words "O give thanks to the Lord, for God is good; God's steadfast love endures forever!" jumped off the page at me. Most people I know use the word "love" to mean many things. They "love" a certain food, a TV show or a favorite shirt. "Love" can also mean enduring care and commitment as we speak of our family members - a spouse - a child - an aging parent. Because we have so many different understandings of the word "love" the idea of love "enduring forever" is sometimes challenging for us. Our challenge as Christians is to look not at the whole, but at the parts of which it is composed. God's love is timeless and immediate at the same time. We encounter it every day in one another. May the Love of Easter be revealed in you this day!

Pastor Rick,
I love your blog page & I hope your church and community find it helpful as they search for the presence of God in their own lives. "Enduring Love?" I'm amazed at how God's love has become "more enduring" in me than when I was younger. Circumstances do not seem to rob me of that constant companion that brings peace throughout each day. That is God's greatest blessing to me through Christ!
Steve
