New Thornwell Video...You Must See This!
Our congregation will observe the annual special offering for the Thornwell Home for Children on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Thornwell Home for Children, a ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA), is a joyful Christian community in Clinton, South Carolina, offering hope and wholeness to children and families. Founded in 1875 by Reverend William Plumer Jacobs, Thornwell began as an orphanage for children whose lives had been devastated by the Civil War. Today, Thornwell provides a home for 70 children and youth. Pastor Rick Douylliez attended the fall meeting of the Board of Trustees this past week where the board welcomed Thornwell’s new Interim President, The Reverend Dr. Charles Elliott. The community also expressed appreciation to retiring President Skip Stansell at a dinner held in his honor on Thursday night.
