Cotton Patch Gospel
Wow! What a performance! As the father of one of the actors, one might think that this posting is a bit biased. Of course it is! Yet as I reflect this morning on what I experienced last night at the CCHS Theatre, I am still in awe of the talent of both our students at Camden County High School High and the amazing direction and guidance of Mary and Paul Kraack, Dean Slusser, Shannon Wolf and Corey Wolfgang in producing such an outstanding show. As a Minister of the Word and Sacrament, I must agree with an Episcopalian priest who saw this play for the first time many years ago and simply remarked: "This IS the Gospel!" To my "fundamentalist" friends who will not see this performance this weekend(many whom have never seen this play) for reasons that I still cannot comprehend, your absence perpetuates the division between us as Christians and accentuates what the secular world thinks and says about us. Yes, we can be our own worst enemies!
